About the Director
Eric Warner grew up in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, graduating from East Stroudsburg South High School in 1999. He went on to attend Penn State University, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education, with honors and with distinction. He also earned a Master of Music Education degree from Boston University in 2009.
This is Mr. Warner's 20th year at Wallenpaupack. Under his direction, the band has built a reputation as one of the largest and most active in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Mr. Warner directs the marching band, symphonic band, jazz band, and wind ensemble. He also serves as the high school Fine Arts department chair, teaches music theory and music appreciation, and assists with the middle school band and choral program.
His wife Kelley is also a proud Penn State graduate, and a second grade teacher at Wallenpaupack. They live in Tafton with their daughters Nora and Sara, and their dog Charlie (pictured here).
Mr. Warner has played saxophone, clarinet, and piano for a variety of jazz combos, big bands, and pit orchestras around the area. He has also been featured as a guest conductor for the PMEA District 9 Jazz Fest (2014) and the Eldred (NY) High School Band (2017), and as an piano accompanist for the PMEA District 9 Jazz Choir (2019).
In his free time, Mr. Warner enjoys attending his daughters' games and performances, and watching sports. He is a fan of Penn State football, and of the Boston/New England professional sports teams.
